This restaurant is probably the ‘original’ Rotterdam Fave, the first restaurant I really loved and went to for Korean comfort food in Rotterdam. I’ve been living in Rotterdam for nearly eight years, and this remains a true favorite! Read on for more on Gamasot, Rotterdam!
What type of restaurant is Gamasot?
Gamasot is a family run Korean restaurant, where the food is cooked in a small open kitchen. You’re always greeted with a smile when you step in, and the place is always busy! Since I have been going there the menu has always been the same – delicious, heartwarming food that is served quickly. Their menu consists of 12 dishes, and they offer Korean drinks as well. I love trying these out… I don’t always know what to expect, and that adds to the fun of trying the different drinks. Word of warning though, my bibulous friends – no alcohol is served at Gamasot.

With new restaurants opening every week in Rotterdam, the one more trendy than the next, I try to keep in mind what I really look for in a Rotterdam Fave. This centers around good food, but also the feeling that you have when you’re there – my favorite places are always simple and where you feel the food was cooked with love. Due to this, Gamasot became and stays a Rotterdam Fave: delicious food cooked with love.

My recommendation…
With all these grey, cold days we’ve been having in Rotterdam – head to Gamasot after a rainy day to warm up again with some bibimbap or spicy duk bok gi.
