Each month in #Done with Dumb I’ll share what I am currently doing to make sure I keep learning, expanding my horizons and what books I am reading. This first #Done with Dumb I’m sharing the podcasts I’m listening to at the moment.
I love listening to stories – it allows me to emerge myself more in a story and identify with the characters. Last year I listened to a lot of audiobooks (still do!) and lately I am completely obsessed with podcasts. I listen to them on my 7 minute commute, during walks, while I am shopping and on the bike in the gym…so basically everywhere!
As I am still #donewithdumb in 2017, I love listening to podcasts that allow to me learn something and preferably also entertain me! I alternate these podcasts with a few which are purely for fun, about topics I like.
Here are some podcasts I’m loving at the moment:
Hidden Brain: Hosted by Shankar Vedantam, this podcast dives into what drives human behavior. The stories use real-life examples to explain what triggers us and explain how and why we make certain decisions.
No Such Thing As A Fish: There was no way I would not love a podcast spin-off from my fave TV show! Made by the researchers of QI, the hosts discuss funny, bizarre and unbelievable trivia each week. The humor is sharp and jokes go extremely quick – keep your wits about you when listening to this one!
My Favorite Murder: Obsessed, I am completely obsessed with this podcast. Since finding it in the beginning of March, I have been working my way through all their episodes. A true crime podcast, hosted by two hilarious ladies who sound as if they could be my friends.
Spirits: If I were to ever make a podcast…it would probably be something like this. It sounds like Amanda and Julia have so much fun! During each episode they tell a myth or legend, accompanied by a matching drink! Harry Potter jokes, history, drinks and myths from around the world…all things I love (and you will too)! #Kinda creepy, kinda cool! Website | iTunes | YouTube
The History of Rome: I’m not going to lie to you…this podcast helps get me to sleep a lot. I find it relaxing to drift off to sleep while listening to a calm voice explain how different tribes slowly grew into the mighty city of Rome. Not yet past episode 10…. find them on iTunes.
If you have any favorite podcasts, please share them as I’m always open to new podcasts to follow!
